The Higher Education Commission (colloquially known as HEC) is a statutory body formed by the Government of Pakistan which was established in 2002 under the Chairmanship of Atta-ur-Rahman. Its main functions are funding, overseeing, regulating and accrediting the higher education institutions in the country.
1. Quaid-i-Azam University was ranked 378 in the world by the QS World University Rankings of 2022 [10] and 91 in Asia. [10] For QS Top 10 Asian universities, QAU was ranked 6th in the natural science category in 2010. Digital Library. The university belongs to Pakistan Educational Research Network (PERN) which connects universities and research institutes in Pakistan through the internet. The Higher Education Commission has given online access to journals and research papers through PERN, so that they will have digital access to quality research materials.
The University also has access to 72 Mbit/s Pakistan Educational Research Network (PERN) facilities, E- Library, OPAC, mini labs, HEC Digital library as well as international online libraries and journals.
