William Edwin Franklin (born May 3, 1930) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, He served as an auxiliary bishop of Archdiocese of Dubuque in Iowa from 1987 to 1993, and as bishop of the Diocese of Davenport, also in Iowa, from 1993 to 2006.
Several changes occurred in the second half of the twentieth century. The 1960s saw changes for the Trinity congregation with the establishment of two new churches in the Iowa Quad Cities. St. Alban's Church was organized in 1960 in northwest Davenport, and in 1966 St. Peter's Church was established in Bettendorf.
St. Ambrose was founded as a seminary and school of commerce for young men in 1882, known as St. Ambrose Academy.It owes its beginning to the first Bishop of Davenport, John McMullen, who founded it under the auspices of the Diocese of Davenport.

Edward Daniel Howard (November 5, 1877 – January 2, 1983) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as the Auxiliary Bishop of Davenport from 1924 to 1926 and the Archbishop of Portland from 1926 to 1966. At the time of his death in 1983 he was the oldest Catholic bishop in the world.
The church was renamed St. Patrick's in 1872 in acknowledgment of the parishioners’ Irish ancestry. [6] Staceyville was renamed Georgetown sometime later. The parish became a part of the Davenport Diocese when it was established in 1881. The stained glass windows were added to the church in 1892.
