Chesterfield United FC is an American soccer team based in Richmond, Virginia. The team was established in 2013 and plays in the South Atlantic Division of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), which is the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid .

The first Chesterfield F.C. was founded in the mid-1860s and survived until 1881, long before league football existed. The second incarnation, which became known as Chesterfield Town F.C., was formed in 1884. Its first team joined and won the Sheffield & District League in 1891–92, and first entered the FA Cup the following season.
The 2013–14 season was Chesterfield's second in League Two following relegation in 2012, and manager Paul Cook's first full season in charge. After spending most of the season near the top of the table, Chesterfield were crowned League Two champions on the final day, to claim the League Two title for a record fourth time, and to seal their return to the third tier after a two-year absence.
