Twitter acquired application developer Atebits on April 11, 2010. Atebits had developed the Apple Design Award-winning Twitter client Tweetie for the Mac and iPhone. The application became the official Twitter client for the iPhone, iPad and Mac. In 2010 the Library of Congress archived all Tweets back to 2006 and began archiving all new tweets.
