Public Mobile Inc. is a Canadian self-serve mobile brand which is owned by Telus. [1] Launched on March 18, 2010, Public Mobile was one of several new Canadian cellphone providers that started in 2009–10 after a federal government initiative to encourage competition in the wireless sector. Public Mobile was acquired by Telus in October 2013.
Koodo Mobile is a Canadian mobile flanker brand [1] [2] started by Telus in 2008 and mostly oriented toward younger customers. [3] Koodo differs from its parent Telus by not requiring a fixed term contract. [4] Koodo currently provides postpaid, prepaid, and wireless home phone services.
Telus Mobility sells a variety of voice plans. These include a fixed number of minutes plus unlimited calling on weeknights, weekends and with up to four other Telus lines on the same account. Caller ID and a basic voicemail for up to three messages are also included as calling features, although airtime is charged for accessing the latter.
The company offered two plans, one with unlimited mobile calling within the user's province and one with unlimited mobile talk and text nationwide. Both plans included a basic landline home phone. While the service was only offered to customers in Kelowna and Red Deer, coverage was available across Canada on the Telus network.
