Jill Thompson (born November 20, 1966) is an American illustrator and writer who has worked for stage, film, and television. Well known for her work on Neil Gaiman 's The Sandman characters and her own Scary Godmother series, she has worked on The Invisibles , Swamp Thing , and Wonder Woman as well.
Early years. Jacob Thompson, eldest son of Merrick Thompson, a manufacturer of linen check and a well-known member of the Society of Friends, was born in Lanton Street, Penrith, Cumberland, on 28 August 1806.
