Kingman is a city in, and the county seat of, Mohave County, Arizona, United States. It is named after Lewis Kingman , an engineer for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad . It is located 105 miles (169 km) southeast of Las Vegas , Nevada, and 180 miles (290 km) northwest of Arizona's state capital, Phoenix . [5]

The Hotel Beale – built in 1900 and located at 325 E Andy Devine Ave. (formerly Front Street). In 1906 the Beale Hotel was purchased by Tom Devine, father of actor Andy Devine. Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent the night there. It was once the premier hotel in Kingman.
The jail serving the county in 2023, at 501 Historic Route 66 in Kingman, was built in 2010. It is a 688 bed county jail, about a half mile from the courthouse and 1909 jail. Description. The Raymond Carr House is located at 620 Oak Street in Kingman, Arizona. The home was built in 1916 in the Neo-Colonial Revival style. B. Allen Brown and H. W. Charleton & Co. were the architect and contractor. It has a native stone foundation including the lower wall, and stone came from A. H. Smith Quarry.
