The Cathedral Basilica of St. Mary [1] ( Romanian: Catedrala romano-catolică Adormirea Maicii Domnului; Hungarian: nagyváradi Nagyboldogasszony székesegyház [2]) also called the Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption, is the cathedral church of the Latin Diocese of Oradea Mare. It is located in the city of Oradea, [3] northwest Romania.
The church was founded in 1974 as the Second Baptist Church of Oradea. [1] In 1990, the church founded the Emanuel Bible Institute, which became Emanuel University of Oradea in 1998. [2] The building was completed in 1993. In 2017, the church had 2,400 congregants. [3]
