Ike & Tina Turner. Izear Luster " Ike " Turner Jr. (November 5, 1931 – December 12, 2007) was an American musician, bandleader, songwriter, record producer, and talent scout. An early pioneer of 1950s rock and roll, he is best known for his work in the 1960s and 1970s with his wife Tina Turner as the leader of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue.
Melby is a village located on the Halsnæs peninsula, midway between Frederiksværk and Hundested, Halsnæs Municipality, North Zealand, some 60 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It most notable landmarks are its church, its windmill and a former military camp. Melby Station is served by the Hundested Line between Hillerød and Hundested.
John Fremont Melby (July 1, 1913 – December 18, 1992) was a United States diplomat, who served in the Soviet Union from 1943 to 1945 and in China from 1945 to 1948. He held other positions with the Department of State until 1953, when he was dismissed as a security risk because of his long and intimate association with the playwright Lillian Hellman, who was accused of communist ties.
Guri Melby (born 3 February 1981) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. She has served as the party leader since 2020 and Minister of Education from 2020 to 2021. [2] She is also a member of parliament for Oslo since 2021, having previously been a deputy member for the same constituency between 2013 and 2021.
Ernest Oscar Melby was born in Lake Park, Minnesota. He was the son of Ole Hans Melby and Ellen (Stakke) Melby. Melby received his B.A. from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 1913. He attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota to receive his master's degree and Ph.D. He married Aurora Herbert on December 29, 1914.
