Karate (空手) ( / kəˈrɑːti /; Japanese pronunciation: [kaɾate] ⓘ; Okinawan pronunciation: [kaɽati] ), also karate-do (空手道, Karate-dō), is a martial art developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
