Aceh Sultanate. Salahuddin (died 25 November 1548) was the second Sultan of Aceh Darussalam, reigning from 1530 to either 1537 or 1539. He was the eldest son of Sultan Ali Mughayat Syah, the founder of the Aceh Sultanate. His reign was characterized by weakness, and he was deposed by his ambitious younger brother, Alauddin al-Kahar. The Aceh Party was formerly known as GAM Party ( Partai GAM) after the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), a separatist group that waged a war for Aceh independence from 1976 to 2005. Many of the party's leaders were senior figures in GAM, including its chairman Muzakir Manaf, who was a former commander of GAM's military wing.
It was founded by Irwandi Yusuf, who was Aceh's governor between 2007 and 2012. [1] The party qualified to contest the 2014 elections in Aceh, and won 4.7 percent of the vote, winning three seats in the provincial legislature. [2] In 2017, the party changed its initial name with the "N" now means Nanggroe (Acehnese for land) instead of Nasional.
