USCIS Form N-400, Application for Naturalization (2016 revision) Form N-400 is used to apply for US citizenship through the naturalization process. Lawful permanent residents (also known as green card holders) of the United States, who meet the eligibility requirements, can file N-400 form to request citizenship.
The two most important G forms are the G-28 (notice of entry or appearance of attorney) [2] and the G-1145 (e-notification of application/petition acceptance). [3] The USCIS also handles forms related to naturalization and citizenship. These forms begin with the letter "N" and are not discussed on this page.
Forms are designated by a specific name, and an alphanumeric sequence consisting of a letter followed by two or three digits. Forms related to immigration are designated with an I (for example, I-551, Permanent Resident Card) and forms related to naturalization are designated by an N (for example, N-400, Application for Naturalization).
