The School was dedicated on September 12, 1926 by the Right Reverend Joseph C. Plagens, Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit. On September 14, 1926, De La Salle Collegiate was officially opened to students. A total of eighty-five boys, including the freshman class temporarily using the St. David’s School, presented themselves for admission.
