The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is a regional theatre in the United States. It was founded in 1959 by college student Gerald Covell and was one of the first regional theatres in the United States. In 2005, the Art Academy of Cincinnati officially left the museum's Eden Park campus, relocating to Over-the-Rhine. As of June 2020, the Cincinnati Art Museum and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, waere undergoing major renovation, including a new outdoor civic and art space titled "Art Climb".
Biography. Michael Alfreds was born in London in 1934 and trained as a director at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He lived in the United States for eight years (1954–1962), during which time he worked for MGM Studios in Hollywood, was artistic director of Theatre West, Tucson, and then of the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
