Parveen Shakir PP ( pronounced [ˈpəɾʋiːn ʃɑːkɪɾ]; 24 November 1952 – 26 December 1994) was a Pakistani poet, teacher and a civil servant of the government of Pakistan. She is best known for her poems, which brought a distinctive feminine voice to Urdu literature.
Akhtar Shairani was born on 4 May 1905 as Muhammad Davud Khan to the Pashtun Sherani tribe, Shirani tribe which had come to India with Sultan Mahmood Ghaznawi and had stayed back in Tonk, Rajasthan.
