Irwin Allen Schiff (/ ʃ ɪ f /; February 23, 1928 – October 16, 2015) was an American libertarian and tax resistance advocate [1] known for writing and promoting literature in which he argued that the way in which the income tax in the United States is enforced upon individuals as a tax on one's time or wages, is illegal and unconstitutional.
His father, Irwin Schiff, who was the son of Jewish immigrants from Poland, served in the US Army during World War II.
