High Point High School (HPHS) is a public high school located in Beltsville, an unincorporated section of Prince George's County, Maryland, United States.The school, serving children in grades 9 through 12, is part of the Prince George's County Public Schools district system.
Lakeland High School was a high school for black children located in the Lakeland community of Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, now a part of College Park. It was the second high school for black children in the county. It ceased being used for educational purposes in 1983. As of 2012, the building was being used as a church. [1]
In Fall 2007, the high school opened. Currently, it has grades K–12, with boys and girls in separate classes. As of 2018 it had over 700 students in all programs, with 460 students in its day school. In 2013 the school and its affiliated mosque planned a new campus in the former Woodmont Academy in Cooksville, Western Howard County.
The school system has expanded to include over 196 schools and centers, including 22 high schools, three secondary schools, 23 middle schools, and 141 elementary schools. Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) also operates a fleet of over 1520 school buses, which transport 110,000 students daily.
