In 1961, Gulf High School moved into a new building, [8] and in 1977 it moved to its third and current location at 5355 School Road, New Port Richey FL 34652. [9] The building which now houses Gulf High school opened as Gulf Junior High School (now Gulf Middle School) in 1971; in 1977 the two schools switched buildings.

Besides the gap between SR 56 and SR 581 in Wesley Chapel, County Road 54 is a county extension of SR 54 south of Dade City. It begins at County Road 579 (Morris Bridge Road) west of downtown Zephyrhills and runs north in a short overlap with that road until it curves east, and runs east along Eiland Boulevard, while CR 579 continues north along Handcart Road.
Morton Plant North Bay Hospital is a hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. [1] In 2010, two brand new buildings opened: Starkey Tower and the Medical Arts Building.In addition to the new buildings, the hospital opened the Richard and Laura Bekesh Education and Conference Center which hosts community lectures, support groups, and health screenings. [2]
With this new route, the Port Everglades Expressway was then planned to be built as an Interstate highway designated I-595 to provide an Interstate connection between I-75 and I-95. The first piece of the south extension of I-75 to open was a short segment just east of Fort Myers from SR 78 south to Corkscrew Road in 1979.
