Parkway High athletics competes in the LHSAA as a 5A school. Marching and concert band. The school is home to a large instrumental music program under the direction of Mr. Mark Minton. This program is divided into two major classifications, marching band and concert band. The program also includes a jazz band, orchestra and a basketball pep band.

The band has won the national VH1 Save the Music Battle of the Bands twice, the only high school band invited to perform in this competition to do so.
