Susiriwardana was born on 31 December 1962 in Bentota, Sri Lanka. He went to Keenadeniya Maha Vidyalaya, Ambepussa for education since 1974. He was married and was a father of three children. He had had cancer for a long time. He died on 14 November 2021 at the age of 58 while receiving treatment for cancer.
