Ian Dury was born at 43 Weald Rise in Harrow, then in the Borough of Middlesex. [1] His early years were spent in Harrow Weald (although it's often misreported that Ian was born in Upminster, Essex, an impression he often encouraged himself) and in Mevagissey, Cornwall during the Blitz. [8]
