The 2023 Alberta general election was held on May 29, 2023. Voters elected the members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The United Conservative Party under Danielle Smith, the incumbent Premier of Alberta, was re-elected to a second term with a reduced majority. Across the province, 1,763,441 valid votes were cast in this election.
Current districts named for individuals include several premiers: Edmonton-Rutherford for Alexander Rutherford. Three are named for former party leaders: Edmonton-Decore for former Liberal leader and Edmonton mayor Laurence Decore. In addition, Edmonton-McClung is named for suffragette and MLA Nellie McClung.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital opened in 1899 at 97th Street and 103A Avenue as the Edmonton General Hospital. It was designed to hold 25 patients. The costs of opening the hospital were funded by the Women's Auxiliary. In 1912, a new "modern" facility was opened on the northside of 111 Avenue between 101 and 103 Street.

Beginning in October 2021, Alberta began issuing passenger (class 3) license plates with HD 6700 reflective sheeting from 3M. The reflective series began at CKT-1800. This sheeting had been used on several small batches of Antique Auto, Motorcycle, and Veteran plates before being introduced to general issue plates.
