Saniku Gakuin College (三育学院大学, San'iku gakuin daigaku) is a co-educational, Christian, private university in Japan. The main campus is located in Ōtaki, Chiba , Japan. The college is a part of the world-wide network of Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) institutions of higher education , the world's second largest Christian school system.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is as of 2016 "one of the fastest-growing and most widespread churches worldwide", [4] with a worldwide baptized membership of over 22 million people. The Seventh-day Adventist Church had its roots in the Millerite movement of the 1830s to the 1840s, during the period of the Second Great Awakening, and was officially founded in 1863. Prominent figures in the early church included Hiram Edson, Ellen G. White, her husband James Springer White, Joseph Bates, and J. N. Andrews.
