Legoland Deutschland Resort is a Legoland park located in Günzburg in southern Germany, roughly halfway from Munich to Stuttgart, which opened in 2002. History of Lego. Lego began in 1932 in the carpentry workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a Danish carpenter. He initially produced furniture but later started making wooden toys. The company was named "Lego" in 1934, a contraction from the Danish phrase "leg godt", meaning "play well". Coincidentally, ‘lego’ means ‘I put together’ in Latin.
