www.greenecountyohio.gov. Greene County is located in the southwestern portion of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 167,966. [2] Its county seat is Xenia and its largest city is Beavercreek. [3] The county was established on March 24, 1803 [4] and named for General Nathanael Greene, [5] an officer in the Revolutionary War.
Greene County Library is a member of the Miami Valley Libraries, one of eleven regional library cooperatives in Ohio. In 2007, the library loaned more than 2.5 million items to its over 90,000 cardholders, making it the 10th busiest library in Ohio. Total holdings are over 607,000 volumes with more than 500 periodical subscriptions.
David Crockett Birthplace State Park (previously called Davy Crockett Birthplace State Historic Park) is a state park in Greene County, Tennessee, United States.Situated along the Nolichucky River, the park consists of 105 acres (0.42 km 2) centered on the traditional birthplace of legendary Tennessee frontiersman, soldier, and politician Davy Crockett (1786-1836).
There are 44 properties and districts listed on the National Register in the county, including one National Historic Landmark. One property was once listed, but has since been removed.
