Sunway College is a private college based in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It was established on 25 July 1987 by Jeffrey Cheah . [1] It has a 10-hectare (24 acre) campus comprising academic and residential blocks adjacent to the Sunway Lagoon theme park.

On 23 February 1998, the Malaysian Government formally invited Monash to develop a comprehensive campus, making it the first foreign university in Malaysia. In July of that year, Monash University's newly founded Malaysia campus opened its doors to its first intake of 261 students. Since then, the campus has expanded rapidly.
A monorail service named Sunway Monorail (alternatively known as Suntrek 2000) operated in Bandar Sunway from 2000 to 2007 and was the second monorail system to operate in Malaysia following the Genting Monorail and the first public monorail in the country, opening in 2000 and predating the launch of the Kuala Lumpur Monorail by three years.

Subang Jaya is a city in Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia.It comprises the southern third district of Petaling.It consists of the neighbourhoods from SS12 to SS19, UEP Subang Jaya (USJ), Putra Heights, Batu Tiga as well as PJS7, PJS9 and PJS11 of Bandar Sunway, the latter of which are partially jurisdictional within Petaling Jaya under the MBPJ.
On 2 May 2013, it officially became a university college under the name Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) and in 2022, the institution was upgraded to a University, changing its name to TAR UMT. TAR UMT's main campus covers 171 acres (69 ha) at Jalan Genting Kelang in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur.
