As of November 2023, Southwest Airlines has scheduled flights to over 100 destinations [1] in 42 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, the newest being Syracuse, New York on November 14, 2021. The airline has 15 focus cities and operates over 4,000 flights each day. [2]
The airport previously had scheduled passenger service operated by Air Florida which in 1984 was operating seven daily departures to West Palm Beach (PBI) with six of these flights then continuing on to Miami (MIA) on a direct one stop basis.
Brightline, a private company, began South Florida service in 2018 with stations in downtown Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Stations in Aventura and Boca Raton opened in December 2022.
