In Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the Book of Life (Hebrew: ספר החיים, transliterated Sefer HaChaim; Greek: βιβλίον τῆς ζωῆς Biblíon tēs Zōēs; Arabic: سفر الحياة, romanized: Kitab al-ḥayā) is the book in which God records, or will record, the names of every person who is destined for Heaven and the world to come.
In the Bible outside of Genesis, the term "tree of life" appears in Proverbs (3:18; 11:30; 13:12; 15:4) and Revelation (2:7; 22:2,14,19).
