WMAQ-TV logo, used from 1992 to 1995. The '5' in this logo, set in Helvetica, was also used from 1976 to 1985. Although NBC had long owned the WMAQ radio stations, the television station continued to maintain call letters separate from those used by its co-owned radio outlets; this changed on August 31, 1964, when the network changed the station's calls to WMAQ-TV.
