Orrin Thompson (August 26, 1913 – March 7, 1995) was one of the largest real-estate developers in the United States. In the 1950s, a time when the post World War II population was exploding and in need of housing, he built and sold thousands of one-family homes, primarily in Minnesota.
Tuan Anh Vu (Vietnamese: Vũ Tuấn Anh; born December 5, 1957), [1] better known as Tommy or Tom Vu, is a Vietnamese American poker player, real estate investor and speaker best remembered as an infomercial personality in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He came to Minnesota in 1849, settled in St. Paul, invested largely in real estate, and was the president of the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad. The Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad Company was incorporated under Minnesota legislation enacted in 1861 and received grants of lands approved by the U.S. General Land Office for transfer.
In 1968, Mandelbaum contributed $250,000 towards the formation of Interstate Properties, a real estate development firm, with Steven Roth and Russell Wight. The firm later took control of the Vornado fan company (previously acquired by the Two Guys department store chain) and turned it into the Vornado Realty Trust . [ 5 ]
