Buck Hill Falls, Pennsylvania. Buck Hill Falls is a private resort community in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The settlement was founded in 1901 as a Quaker retreat by a group of Friends from Philadelphia, including Charles F. Jenkins who became and remained the president of the Buck Hill Falls Company until his death in 1951.

Pocono Manor offered sweeping vistas of the eastern and western Pocono region and had been referred to as the "Grand Lady of the Mountains". Buck Hill closed in 1990 and the Inn at Pocono Manor was mostly destroyed by fire in 2019.

Jenkins's early career was at the Farm Journal, which had been founded by his uncle Wilmer Atkinson. [1] He was a member and president of the Buck Hill Falls Company for fifty years, and a member and president of the Board of Managers of Swarthmore College for forty years.
