History. It was first published on 5 April 1983 and was founded by KANU, at that time the only legal political party in Kenya. The paper was originally known as The Nairobi Times. [1] In 1988, Robert Maxwell, who also published The Mirror, bought a 45% stake in the paper, the remaining ownership was still held by KANU.
John Kituyi ( c. 1952 – 30 April 2015) was a Kenyan editor and publisher for the newspaper Mirror Weekly who lived in Eldoret, Rift Valley Province, Kenya. Kituyi was known for writing and publishing investigative journalism about Kenyan politics. [1] Kituyi was murdered by unknown assailants. [2]
