Baraton is a small town in Western Kenya, situated 50 km from the town of Eldoret. It is home to the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and is in Nandi County . Baraton has been rapidly growing in terms of housing for students within the last few years as of 2020, it also has a small market area that consists several shops, chemists and hotels.

As early as 1996, the action was taken to upgrade what was the Lakeview Seminary to a Junior College. It was envisaged to offer four year degree programmes of an already existing University. At that time the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton was the best candidate. In 1999 the Malawi Union Mission agreed to run the four year degree programmes.
In 1998, the affiliation shifted from Griggs University to the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB) in Kenya. Under this affiliation, TAC offered BA in theology and religion, BBA in accounting and management and diploma courses in education and business.
