Established in the late 18th century, the farm has (as of 2001) been continuously held in the same family. The 125-acre (51 ha) includes a c. 1825 farmhouse, carriage house, and barn.
September 18, 2017. Emery Farm is a historic farm property at 16 Emery Lane in Stratham, New Hampshire. The farmhouse, built about 1740, is a fine example of period architecture, with later 19th century stylistic alterations. The property is notable as one of New Hampshire's first market garden farms, a practice adopted by John Emery in 1855.
The New Hampshire Farm Museum is set on over 60 acres (24 ha) of land between New Hampshire Route 125 to the east, and the Spaulding Turnpike to the west. This land is a subset of land settled in the 1780s by Joseph and Beard Plumer, two of the area's early settlers. The land they worked has been reduced by the construction of the turnpike.
History. Named for its ever-present ledge, [1] Bedrock Gardens was bought by its present owners in 1980. The abandoned dairy farm came with a farm house, built circa 1740, a historic barn, a three-holer outhouse and 37-acre (15.0 ha) of scrub forest. [2] Over the next 30 years, 20-acre (8.1 ha) were developed into a large ornamental garden.
Bennett Farm is a historic farmstead at 11 Bennett Road in Henniker, New Hampshire. The area has been farmed since the 1730s, when Henniker was laid out, and has been in the Bennett family for over a century. It is the oldest surviving farmstead in the rural community, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
