Mike Wooldridge OBE is a world affairs correspondent for the BBC News. [1] Wooldridge spent his youth at Bournemouth School before joining BBC News in April 1970 as a sub-editor. He became a news reporter in 1978, and in 1982 he became the East Africa correspondent. In 1989, he moved to Johannesburg to become the BBC's South Africa correspondent.
Career. In the late 1980s and early 1990s Brown worked on South African newspapers Vrye Weekblad and Weekly Mail. [3] Early in her career she interviewed Nelson Mandela on Robben Island. [2] Brown hosts the BBC World Service 's Focus on Africa podcast, [4] and has presented BBC Radio 4 's Pick of the Week. [5]
Her work assignments have included a stint presenting World News Today on the BBC World News channel from Washington at 10:00 pm EST during July/August 2008. She presented live coverage from South Africa following the death of Nelson Mandela in 2013.
