Monroe School (Phoenix, Arizona) / 33.48; -112.185278. The Monroe School is a historic former school at 215 North 7th Street at the intersection of Monroe Street in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It was designed by Norman Foote Marsh in the Neoclassical or Classical Revival style and was an elementary school and then a high school from 1914 to 1972.
In 1959 a new high school was built on Kroncke Drive. It was renovated and expanded multiple times, and served as the high school until 2010. It is currently the home to Central Heights Middle School, Prairie Phoenix Academy, and the district's Professional Learning Center (PLC). In 2010, a new high school was built on Grove Street.
