256. ISBN. 047052670X. How an Economy Grows and Why it Crashes (2010) is an illustrated book on various economic topics by Peter Schiff and Andrew Schiff. The book allegorically explores such topics as inflation, deficit spending, central banking, international trade, and the housing bubble and credit collapse of 2008.
Schiff is predicting a phenomenon known as “de-dollarization” — when countries shift away from the greenback as a reserve currency, medium of exchange or unit of account.
“I think what’s going to happen is the world’s going to reject the dollar like we rejected gold [in 1971] — and it’s going to go back on the gold standard,” Schiff predicted.
The series sought to illustrate themes of common virtues through famous all-embracing heroes and stories, based on Bennett's Book of Virtues. The core audience were families with children who were between the ages of 6 and 10 years old. Music for the opening sequence and the first season was produced by J. A. C. Redford.
