History. Clements was occupied in 1983, making it FBISD's third comprehensive high school. The school was named after William P. Clements.. In 2023, as part of a $1.26 billion bond package by Fort Bend ISD, a proposition was made calling for the construction of a new $222 million rebuild of Clements on the current site's athletic facilities.

History. As M.R. Wood School it was historically a segregated school for black students.Housing grades 1-12, it opened in the 1940s. It was originally a part of the Sugar Land Independent School District until it merged with the Missouri City Independent School District to form the FBISD in 1959.
History. Lawrence E. Elkins High School was established as a grade 9 and 10 school in the fall of 1992 to alleviate overcrowding from three other district high schools, Dulles, Clements, and Willowridge. [citation needed] Elkins was FBISD's fifth comprehensive high school.
Almeta Crawford, who is ACHS's eponym, was a long-time employee at FBISD, serving for under half a century working at the district, mostly at Dulles High School. In March 2021, Keith Fickel, principal of Sugar Land Middle School, was declared to be the school's upcoming principal. On April 7, 2022, the school's mascot was revealed: the chargers.
