    Odd. Adding contacts in my Yahoo mail account doesn't ask about network. Only the name details: First Name, Middle Name, & Last Name and the contact information: Email, NickName, MessengerID, & Phone. So long as you fill in at least one of these seven fields, you can store the contact.

    Also I think they have a new system now where you have to enter your whole email address into the ID field, so instead of just "random223" you have to enter "". Try asking at the yahoo! security center to see what they can do. Sorry I can't be of more help, you might get better answers at the Computing Reference Desk.
