Generally, PTV airs locally produced news and public affairs programs and documentaries, sports, movies, dramas, public service and entertainment programs, in addition to foreign content coming from their counterparts from China, Japan, South Korea and the ASEAN –member countries, and blocktime programs.

PTV started its second TV Channel PTV-2 in 1992, it was the first-ever satellite channel of Pakistan as well.
